The events that led to eye donation are inevitably, powerfully emotional

The selfless gift of sight comes at the greatest of sacrifices, the loss of a loved one. For some, an anatomical gift, like organ, tissue, or eye donation, can be the bridge between life and death that soothes the pain of such loss.

On the other side of donation are the recipients, those whose life was changed for the better due to the generosity of a stranger. Imagine the equal power to recovering from a corneal transplant to see your wife for the first time in years, or to see your grown children for the first time ever.

Every story of donation has two sides. We are interested in your story. If you would like to share your story with the public, please contact Brian Philippy, Director of Transplant & Research by email at brianp@lionseyebank.org.
